Spice Up Your Life With Chai!

Chai, directly translated from Hindi, means tea.

Pop culture has come to recognize it as a spicy mixture which has been used in baked goods, smoothies, and even protein shake flavours!

The spice mix is actually called chai masala, which is really just a spice mixture used to make tea in India. Chai = tea, chai masala = tea spice. Or spicy tea.

So here’s that chai masala recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground fennel
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

That’s my personal favourite recipe because it’s warm and comforting. It also improves digestion, has anti-inflammatory properties, improves blood circulation, and is a lovely little immune booster, which is why I have a cup every single day, come rain, come shine.
